I am beginning to sound like my gran, 'ooh time flies', 'ooh when I was little...', 'it only seems like yesterday when I was...'
But really, I'm sure it was only a matter of weeks since the beginning of 2010. I even wrote 'best wishes for 2010' in some of my christmas cards last month. I'd sealed them and put on stamps before I realised what I'd been writing. I suppose the recipients may just have assumed I was wishing them all the best for the remaining week and a half of the year, or perhaps more likely they realised I'm just a little bit mad.
Oh well, just wanted to say 'Happy New Year!' to you all. (It's now 2011, by the way in case any of you are having similar problems to myself.)
Yes, I have just hovered the cursor over the date on the bottom right hand side of my laptop screen, just to be certain.Monday 03 Jan 2011!
:)
Some ramblings about my writing efforts, the odd mention of my cats and drawing stuff...
About Me
- penandpaints
- Hi, welcome to my blog, I am a writer of short stories, children's and YA novels . An acceptance from People's Friend finally made me a published writer! Yeah, happy days! I have since had stories published in The Weekly News and The Last Laugh anthology. My main love is writing children's/YA novels...I'm now enduring a fruitless search for an agent... I also draw and paint, I like to draw animals (usually my adorable crazy cats!)Occasionally famous people and motorcycles.
Happy New Year to you Penandpaints!!! Yes it is so 2011!!! I have to admit that all of 2010 I sounded like your gran too!! LOL!! "Doesn't time fly?" and erm "In my day" and "When I was little" (To which some cad of a person I'm speaking too will reply "You mean even littler than you are now?!"). Cheek!

Happy New Year to you too! I have a theory that time speeds up as you grow older. A week seemed like ages when I was a child; I'm sure it did, yes, really it did...
ReplyDeleteYep. Definitely 2011. Scary, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHi Old Kitty, glad it's not just me :)
ReplyDeleteChristine, you'r right, time really did go slower as a child, i'm sure!
Helen, It really is!
2010 flew by, didn't it. I'm hoping 2011 takes its time.
ReplyDeleteXX
Me too, Suz xx
ReplyDeleteThey say time goes quicker when you're older, because of its ratio to the years you've been around for. So, if you're 10 yrs old, one year is one tenth of your lifetime so far, whereas, when you're my age, say, it's only one fiftieth (regrettably!), so it seems like a much smaller chunk of time, and goes by faster. Well it's a theory, I suppose - still wish it didn't happen though!
