About Me

My photo
Hi, welcome to my blog, I am a writer of short stories, children's and YA novels . An acceptance from People's Friend finally made me a published writer! Yeah, happy days! I have since had stories published in The Weekly News and The Last Laugh anthology. My main love is writing children's/YA novels...I'm now enduring a fruitless search for an agent... I also draw and paint, I like to draw animals (usually my adorable crazy cats!)Occasionally famous people and motorcycles.

This is the life

Here I am, beautiful summer's evening. Laptop on blanket in garden, me also on said blanket. Writing away. Lovely chilled orange juice beside me. I have also eaten a 'feast' ice cream, yum!
OK Laptop battery went flat. So that was that.

That was yesterday eve, it is now Friday afternoon, no sun in sight. You really have to make the most of it don't you, blink and it's gone!

Anyway, I'm in a very happy mood because I got an acceptance from The Weekly News!!
Yay, the first time after many, many attempts. I was so chuffed to read it, I was expecting the usual thank you but I'm afraid it's not really for us type thing...
But no, it was a YES. Happy, Happy.

I also went to the library to stock up on some junior fiction , but everything I went to get wasn't available so I came away with just one, at least it will get my undivided attention, so I'm off for a good read.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

  1. Yay!! Congratulations!!!! Wonderful news!!! When will your story be published and under what name? I'd love to read it in this paper!!

    Yay again!!!!

Oh as for summer. I think we've had it a couple of weeks back - those two days when the yellow thing in the sky made a brief appearance...

    take care

  2. Congratulations!! That's fantastic news. I feel really happy for you. I'm sure it will be the first of many.

  3. BRILLIANT NEWS - CONGRATULATIONS. Can't wait to read it. Like Joanna says - the first of many.

It's still hot up here today - I'm wilting indoors with the curtains closed to try to keep the heat out.

  4. Hi Old Kitty, Thank you, I don't know yet, but will tell you when it's out!

Thanks, Joanna, I hope you're right!

Hi Suzanne, Thank you, I'm still smiling when I think of the email :)
Aw, you've got the sun! It's uncomfortable when it's too hot, I do like sun in the eve, with a light breeze, that's lovely.

  5. Well done on the acceptance. Great news.

I appreciate all your comments, thank you!
